Welcome to Jacklove. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jacklove platform accessible at jack.love (the "Service"), operated by Felix Thiollier, sole proprietor, located at 38 avenue des Ternes, 75017 Paris, France ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Jacklove. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration and on your profile.
- You may only create one account per person.
2. Description of the Service
Jacklove is a dating platform that combines matchmaking with a blackjack card game mechanic. After creating a profile, you receive matches (profiles of other real users). You can:
- Chat with your matches through our messaging feature.
- Stake your matches at a virtual blackjack table to try to win additional matches.
The blackjack game on Jacklove is entirely free and involves no real money, no virtual currency with monetary value, and no financial transactions. Matches are not a commodity — they represent connections with real people. The game mechanic is a playful way to expand your pool of potential connections.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at felix@jack.love if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Conduct
When using Jacklove, you agree NOT to:
- Impersonate another person or use someone else's photos without permission.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or send unwanted sexual content to other users.
- Post content that is illegal, defamatory, discriminatory, violent, or promotes hatred.
- Use the platform for commercial purposes, advertising, or solicitation.
- Attempt to scrape, extract, or collect data from the platform or other users' profiles.
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service.
- Attempt to circumvent security measures, exploit bugs, or interfere with the platform's operation.
- Create multiple accounts or create a new account after being banned.
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
5. Content You Post
- You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, bio, messages).
- By posting content on Jacklove, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.
- You represent that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.
- We do not monitor all user content proactively but may review and remove content that is reported or flagged.
6. The Blackjack Game
- The blackjack game is a free feature — no real money is wagered, won, or lost.
- The "stakes" are connections with other users (matches), not currency or items of value.
- Game outcomes are determined by standard blackjack rules using randomized card draws.
- Jacklove is not a gambling service. No financial transaction is involved in gameplay.
- We reserve the right to modify game mechanics, rules, or the number of matches awarded at any time.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using Jacklove, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
- The Jacklove name, logo, design, and all associated branding are the exclusive property of Felix Thiollier.
- The source code, interface design, game mechanics, and all original content of the Service are protected by intellectual property laws.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
9. Third-Party Services
Jacklove uses third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- SendGrid (Twilio) — email delivery.
- Google — OAuth authentication and analytics.
Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.
10. Disclaimers
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- We do not verify the identity of users and cannot guarantee the accuracy of user profiles. You interact with other users at your own risk.
- We are not responsible for the behavior of users, whether online or offline.
- We do not conduct background checks on users.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Jacklove and Felix Thiollier shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any — the Service is currently free).
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jacklove and Felix Thiollier from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your content or conduct on the platform.
- Your interactions with other users.
13. Account Deletion
- You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
- Upon deletion, your profile, matches, messages, and game history will be permanently removed within 30 days.
- We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes.
14. Modifications to the Service and Terms
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.
- We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
- Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will notify you by email.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France.
- Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
- In accordance with EU regulations, you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
